A first-person shooter set in the universe of The Walking Dead has just been announced! That's the good news. The not-so-good news, depending on your opinion is the fact that the game will be published by Activision and developed by Terminal Reality (Kinect Star Wars, Def Jam Rapstar).
According to IGN, the game will be based more off of AMC's TV show instead of the comics or even the other Walking Dead game from Telltale. Placing the spotlight on Daryl Dixon and his brother, the game places the player on a "haunting, unforgiving quest to make their way to the supposed safety of Atlanta."
The Zeds are alerted by sight, sound, and smell and it's up to you as Daryl to choose whether or not you engage in battle with them. This decision may be more difficult than you thought as supplies are supposed to be scarce. You have to deal with food shortages, low ammunition and low supplies.
You will run into "a slew" of new and returning characters. These characters will either be a help or a hindrance and it will be up to the player to determine if these people join Daryl on his journey.
The Walking Dead FPS is due out in 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms. Telltale's episodic adventure for The Walking Dead already has two fantastic episodes released. Be sure to check that out if you're hankering for some more Walking Dead and just can't wait.
