Ranked Dedicated Servers Confirmed for Black Ops 2 on PC

Treyarch's Cesar Stastny tweeted the confirmation that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will allow for dedicated servers.

"Confirmed: Ranked Dedicated Servers for #BlackOps2."

Well thank you Treyarch! This is certainly a far bit better than Infinity Ward's crap with dedicated servers being for unranked matches only. Keep in mind that Treyarch also had dedicated ranked servers for the first Black Ops title until IW's Modern Warfare 3 went back to the IW.net peer-to-peer crap for ranked matches.

And this is why i like treyarch, i enjoyed BOps because it gave us the things offered in CoD4 ranked servers dedicated, server browser and BOps gives us at least 9v9 nstead of 6v6. Anyways this is good news.

Yeah, I enjoyed BO for some time as well. I will probably be picking this up.

Oh goodie, more crouch only servers, sniper only servers, and 24/7 Nuketown servers. More servers I can get banned from for putting a claymore next to the flag. More servers that will kick me because I happen to be trying to get kills with a grenade launcher so I can complete all the challenges for my chosen weapon. And the occasional few servers that will kick me because they think I'm hacking when I'm not.

And absolutely zero Sabotage servers so I'm never, ever, ever going to be able to complete that daily/weekly challenge if it ever comes up.

Sounds fun.

I never got the "crouch only servers" thing. Why? how is it fun? I mean, I also never understood the sniper only servers, but that's because I hate the way people snipe in cod.... But I really can't think of any joy that crouching might bring.

It slows the game down and forces you to look around and be strategic about your move. The problem with them is that they are never enforced. I only found one server that had a program that forced walking. You could not run, no matter what.

It caused people to work together and go for cover and provide covering fire. It changed how CoD was played.

No, I wasnt an admin. Like Jimy, I didnt know what the fuss was about so I decided I would try it and see. Give it a good, honest try. Server after server had noobs that just ran around killing the servers.

Then I found one running BBB that turned off sprint. You could walk and jump if you want, but you could not run. All weapons, perks, camping allowed. It was a great server ran by Dancom Delta in CoD:W@W

I didnt find it fun enough to play crouch only, but I did go there a lot.

Would you like some cheese with that wine? Before or after you get on the server make sure you know the rules. People paying a great deal of money to rent servers and they have right to place any rules they want. If you don't like their set up, I'm positive there are other severs that don't have any rules at all. Mark them as you favore servers and play as you like.
I'g glad that BO2 is striking with RANKED DEDICATED SERVERS, and can't wait for the game to come out.
