Draw Something to Become Gameshow on CBS

Apparently the popular Zynga title, Draw Something is coming to a television near you soon. A primetime gameshow based on the Pictionary clone is headed to CBS with Ryan Seacrest Productions and Embassy Row leading the charge.

The "Draw" game involves competing players drawing a picture to convey a word for a fellow player to guess. Similar games have been adapted into TV series in the past, including syndicated fare during the 1980s and '90s like "Pictionary" and "Win, Lose or Draw."

But "Draw" will have the 21st century spin of incorporating second-screen devices like phones and tablets that are increasingly common in the laps of U.S. viewers. No specifics are available on how that will be executed.

So there you have it. There's no planned release for the pilot episode, but chances are it'll be in the Fall if anything else. It should be noted that past ventures into the world of having people "draw" things for an audience have not gone so well.

This includes the Pictionary gameshows in both 1997 and 1989, each lasting only one season. Win, Lose, or Draw was a bit more successful, lasting three seasons. I guess Zynga is desperate for more money-making schemes after their stock began to tank.

Yeah, this will not end well. Not to mention the era of game shows are past. Even "updated" game shows quickly fade away. If its not reality tv-like, I dont think it would make it.
