The NPD sales figures for the month of May have been released and drumroll please? Yes, Diablo III kicked everyone else's ass for the entire month, besting Max Payne 3 and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
Unfortunately, everything wasn't all sunshine and roses. Hardware sales dropped 39% compared to May 2011. Overall software sales dropped 28% compared to May 2011 figures. As always, digital sales are not included in any of these figures, so the outlook is probably not as grim as these estimates would lead you to believe.
