Zenimax Online Studios is going to handle the development of the upcoming MMORPG and will include an entirely new chapter in the rich Elder Scrolls history. Taking place a millennium prior to the events in Skyrim, players will find the Daedric prince, Molag Bal trying to pull the entirety of Tamriel into his realm.
"It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years," said game director and MMO veteran Matt Firor, whose previous work includes Mythic's well-received Dark Age of Camelot. "The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise."
Game Informer's June story will include in-depth looks at the solo questing mechanic and public dungeons. PvP will be included and will pit three separate factions against each other in open-world warfare across Cyrodiil "and the Emperor's throne itself."
The first teaser for The Elder Scrolls Online is slated to be released tomorrow. The game itself is slated to arrive in 2013 for the PC and Mac.
