Steam on Linux is Closer to Reality than Ever Before

Michael Larabel, a huge lover of all things Linux, recently went on a tour of the Valve HQ. While there, he noticed something that prompted him to Tweet with the utmost glee.

A good and very interesting day at #valve for #Linux

#valve does have Linux games coming plus other very positive Linux plans... I'll briefly post some screenshots and such tonight.

    steam is coming to Linux...

Maybe, just maybe this will be Valve's big reveal at E3 this year? This may excite at least some portion of the gaming populace, right?

I really like this. Having Steam on Linux just allows more cross-platform play, which i think is one of the best things for gaming. I'm just hoping that this will bring people closer and allow them to be able to play against anyone regardless of what console they use or what OS they have on PC, the way gaming should be in my honest opinion.Steam on Mac, Win, Linux, and PS3(not sure about how well the functionality is on PS3, i know there's Portal 2, but wish more games could use Steam for cross-platform play)
