EA pulls Tetris iOS game just to add another Tetris iOS game

If you own Tetris on the iPad, chances are you may have noticed it went missing from the Apple App store earlier today. Why? Well, it was done to make room for the all new Tetris for iPad app.

Yes, a whole new version of the same game was added as a replacement. This new app includes a ton of in-game purchases including monthly and yearly subscription options. It also adds in Origin integration. Yikes.

The problem is that if you owned the old version, there is no way to simply upgrade or update to the new one at no or reduced cost. You have to pay the full price ($7 USD) all over again for the new version.

That sucks.

Yeah it sucks, but the good news is you can pay for more things.

Also, wasnt there an article about EA doing this and then deciding not to because of the backlash? Let me find it..
