The Japanese voice actor for Roy Campbell in the Metal Gear Solid series and Granin in Metal Gear Solid 3, Takeshi Aono has passed away.

Hideo Kojima passed along this sad news via his Twitter just moments ago.

Mr. Takeshi Aono passed away. He had played for Roy Campbell in MGS series, Granin in MGS3 and almost all MGS titles. Our staff had been praying for his recovery for 2 years, but didn't work.. May him rest in peace.

Funny thing is, I just came back from purchasing MGS3 today because I am borrowing a friends PS2. (missed a whole console generation when I was growing up)
