Just like that, the hopes and dreams of thousands if not millions of gamers all over were suddenly squashed. It seems as though the often requested PC release of Dark Souls will make use of Games for Windows Live.
Box art for the game very clearly shows the logo for GFWL functionality. In case you can't see it, it's the big stripe at the top of the art.
Now, I personally don't have much issue with GFWL usage. Sure, updating it can be a huge pain in the ass but beyond that it doesn't seem to be that intrusive. That's not to take anything away from the great number of gamers who do have legitimate and ongoing issues with the DRM.
