An employee at Rockstar North updated their CV (curriculum vitae) noted that Grand Theft Auto V is slated to be released this October. Granted, that entry in their CV has since been pulled, but trust us it was there.
Alex O'Dwyer, a character animator for Rockstar North noted on both his personal CV and his LinkedIn page that October 2012 is when Grand Theft Auto V is slated to ship. The problem with this sort of "announcement" is that it's not really an announcement at all. It could just be an internal release window that the team has set for the game.
As development continues, this release may end up changing drastically. However, if it holds true, it will be released right in the prime Holiday window that many companies strive to hit and falls in line with previous Grand Theft Auto launches (GTA IV being the exception).
Rockstar Games has not made any official comment or announcement on when GTA V will be released. This is just from one man, one employee, and a whole lot of hopeful expectation from the hearts and minds of fans all over.
