Ubisoft Won't Invest Hugely in Mouse and KB Setup for Assassin's Creed III

In a fairly lengthy preview of Assassin's Creed III at Gamespy, it was revealed that Ubisoft really doesn't think too highly of the use of a mouse and keyboard for the PC version of the game.

Sadly the PC version won't get much special treatment, he admitted: "We're definitely supporting PC, we love PC, but I think it'll be PC with a controller. I don't see us investing hugely in a mouse and keyboard setup. I think if you want to play on PC and you want to play Assassin's Creed, you have a controller." So status quo for the series there, though I personally found the previous games to be playable with mouse and keyboard.

Well that's probably a huge letdown for a lot of PC gamers out there. However, the rest of the preview is really interesting. There are a lot of gameplay elements discussed, along with the denial that the PC version will be delayed or see a later than normal release (as has been the norm for multi-platform releases as of late).

I've always used a controller with the AC games. The KB+M is too awkward

I find it strange how something that has been part of gaming is now something considered an investment. I guess when you make a game from console to PC, you have to add that code that has been in it all those other times. Someone has to do that and that takes time.

And some play console games with KB+M. But if you are designing the game around the alien controllers, then you might as well not bother with that platform.
