Gianturco of the GoonSwarm alliance was selected to speak during a live panel at the event, a panel that was also broadcast live to fans all over the world. During his talk, Gianturco informed the event goers some of the events that he and his group have been involved in, from various operations, to large scale scams, to an event where he made fun of someone who was severely depressed.
As part of the talk, Alex aired a private correspondence in which a victim revealed that he'd been severely depressed following a divorce and expressed suicidal thoughts. "We're sure that he's not dead," Alex flippantly remarked during the talk before adding that "he might have committed suicide."
After the flippant remark, Gianturco then gave out the name of the player and encouraged everyone to message him to "make the guy kill himself."
"Incidentally, if you want to make the guy kill himself, his name is [redacted]," Alex said, adding that "he has his own corp. Find him."
Forum complaints on the official EVE forums were met with Gianturco himself saying to "deal with it." CCP has stepped in and is investigating the issue. CCP is "undertaking a full internal review of this panel as well as the process used for vetting the panel's materials. Even though this panel was billed as unfiltered by CCP, we expect public presentations to be courteous and professional towards others."
CCP will also keep an eye on anything directed towards the victim named during Gianturco's presentation.
So to you Alexander Gianturco: Congratulations, you're an asshole.
