Winter is Coming: Assassin's Creed III Website Goes Live with a Countdown

The Assassin's Creed III website has gone up and with it comes a countdown to something. There really isn't too much else on the website aside from the logo, the countdown, and the box art that was revealed a few days ago.

With there being a ton of details and screens for the game leaked in the past few days alone, is there really anything that they could reveal that would come as a surprise to anyone?

It wasnt THAT long ago that revelations came out really :/ Kinda feel like they are milking it a little?

Truthfully, Revelations was a filler game. I think their original intention was to make a trilogy focused around Ezio but then they realized around the time of Brotherhood that they couldn't fill out three games. Revelations was IMO just a game to wrap up Ezio's storyline.

An important thing to note is that AC3 has been worked on by a different team that was working on Brotherhood and Revelations. AC3 has the longest development cycle since AC1, which tells me that the game has been in productions since AC2 was out (which actually makes the rumors that were abound when AC2 was released about an AC3 being in production have some legitimacy).

Looking at some figures here:
AC1: November 2007
AC2: November 2009
AC2:B: November 2010

So AC2 had a production cycle of 2 years. That means AC3 will have a cycle of more than 2 years. AC3 will likely be released November 2012. Two years back from that date would be November 2009, meaning that AC3 was started before AC:B was released.

With that said, I do feel Ubisoft milked the AC2 trilogy hard, but it really appears that this game will be completely new and not a rehash of previous games.
