Borderlands 2 Shipping with Steamworks

As this means that Borderlands 2 won't make use of GameSpy for the multiplayer, then I think we should all be celebrating this announcement. Earlier today, 2K Games, Gearbox Software, and Valve announced that Borderlands 2 will ship with Steamworks when the game releases on September 18th.

Borderlands 2 players will enjoy the benefits of Steamworks features, such as Steam Achievements, downloadable content, auto-updating, multiplayer matchmaking, Steam Cloud support and more. Customers who purchase the PC retail version of Borderlands 2 will also be able to enjoy all the great Steamworks features as well.

Borderlands 2 takes players back to Pandora to take on Handsome Jack and the Hyperion Corporation. Play alone or with up to three other friends as you shoot, loot, and shoot some more.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for making the smart choice and going with steam + steamworks for Borderlands 2. This just got me even more excited about the game because it means my friends and I can play the game together without having 1000's of problems with FailSpy -_-. Plus easy updating and another game that can be run through steam, wewts!
