The big surprise from Bethesda for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has officially been revealed! A high resolution texture pack is out now for all PC players of the game through Steam.
The texture pack is optional and weighs in at a hefty 3.1GB in size. As such, I'm still downloading and have no way to make any comparison screens.

Make sure your system requirements exceed Skyrim’s recommended specs before attempting to install, including Windows Vista or 7 operating system, a minimum of 4GB of system RAM and a DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with at least 1 GB of RAM and the latest drivers.
