    Massive Layoffs Hit THQ

In a filing with the SEC today, it was revealed that THQ might be in bigger trouble than we all initially thought. The standard disclosure filing notes that up to 240 employees have been laid off. The CEO, Brian Farrell, has also agreed to a pay reduction of nearly 50% from $718,500 to $359,250.

The 240 employees are part of an organizational "realignment" that will reduce those positions in selling, general, and administrative roles worldwide. This majority of the realignment will be carried out over the next two months and must be completed by March 31. The rest of the layoffs will take place throughout the rest of the year and concluded on September 30.

This filing comes after the news that NASDAQ will be delisting THQ's stock. Quite the sad day for a company that has published some truly amazing titles over the years including Red Faction, Saints Row, the Warhammer titles, and more.

You mean Hacktivision. And Infinity Whores. And Sluthammer. Though Treyarch are still treyarch because at least they (somewhat) try.
