The latest rumor surrounding the NeXt-box or the Xbox 720 or the Xbox Holy Crap is that the CPU for the device has entered a limited production run. Don't go all crazy just yet because the initial production run will just be for dev kits.
Oh, it also looks like the next-gen Xbox will also be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games. You know, if this rumor is actually true.
Guru3D also notes that these chips are based off of a first revision of silicon, meaning that additional revisions are almost assured. This means that flaws from the first revision will be ironed out down the road towards the production of the consumer product, whenever that may be. More speculation from Guru3D says that "Oban" should also include eDRAM memory and possibly include AMD Graphics Core Next for the video processing.

Microsoft apparently ordered the production of the chip that will go inside the company’s next-generation Xbox 720 console, with the first samples being expected to be finalized at the end of February.
The chip, which is known under the code name of Oban, was apparently taped out by Microsoft sometime at the start of December, soon after the company contracting IBM to build the first batch of such processors. This initial batch seems to be comprised out of 10K chips that will be fabricated using the 32nm SOI (silicon-on-insulator) process on 300mm wafers.
