I think most of the guns were fine before the nerf bombs. It's become retarded pretty quickly.

Well it wouldn't be Dice if game balance actually gets WORSE from what I've heard over the years.

A gun that is seriously OP IMO is the M16A3. I never really used it, but I recently read about people having a ton of success with it. Slap a holo, foregrip, and silencer/laser (depends on your personal preference) on that thing and it is a monster. Great at close range and great at long range, great accuracy, and low recoil/deviation. I'm loving it. Hopefully more people don't use it so that they don't nerf it.

Re: FAMAS to Receive Post-Holiday Nerf

So Demize posted this on twitter:

Working on the Accessory tweaks, thanks for the feedback. Accessory values will now be tweaked per weapon, instead of globally.

So I dont get it. If its global now, then the people that setup the FAMAS with the grip had no choice in its "OP" status.

What I also dont understand is that every gun has different recoil. So if a grip does say, 10 less recoil and you put it on a gun that has 25 and another that has 35, its lowered the same, but obviously different.

So by making an attachment different per weapon, you can have a gun at 25 and one at 35 and the grip on one drops it 5 and the grip on the other drops it 15 and they are now both at 20.

I dont see the advantage to changing the attachments per weapon. You are now adding more variables with every change and you could end up nulling attachments or making different guns end up being the same. I wont even start on when patches are added.

There are currently 51 rifles and shotguns that have attachments. Every single one of them is very different from the other now. So how is this going to be better?

Re: FAMAS to Receive Post-Holiday Nerf

He thinks that certain attachments on certain guns make those guns too overpowered. Here is his justification on Reddit:

The Foregrip is quite powerful on weapons with high amounts of horizontal recoil, and is generally the goto attachment for everyone using Assault Rifles and Carbines. Currently it has no downside, which makes it a pure bonus upgrade and is a no brainer. Adjusting the foregrip on a per gun basis will prevent the foregrip from over powering some guns, and also means it doesn't need to be globally nerfed into oblivion. For example, 50% of the FAMAS's recoil is 0.3deg, while 50% of the G3A3's recoil is only 0.1deg. A global 0.1deg might work better, generally it will need to be on a per gun basis. The 20% penalty to aimed fire is about equal to a single shot fired on a Carbine.
So yeah, right now, it is done by percentage. The foregrip doesn't reduce recoil by 10 globally (from your example), but he does admit that this system would be better than percentage.

I don't really know what he's doing, but knowing DICE, it will screw the game up even more.

Re: FAMAS to Receive Post-Holiday Nerf

Yeah it will. In real life, what disadvantage is having a foregrip? Nothing can be attached underside. OK, check. So basically he wants to still have recoil on weapons using a device that is designed to prevent recoil.

I get what he's saying. In his example the G3A3 would have no recoil with a grip. So why was recoil so low to begin with? Because the weapon should have had no power behind with its bullets. Usually a high recoil weapon has more hitting power. So the G3A3 should take more hits to take someone down.

IDK, maybe I am nit picking.

Re: FAMAS to Receive Post-Holiday Nerf

while he does need to tweak the effect of the forefrip on certain weapons, he doesn't need to change its effect on all of them

the problem being is he is looking at his spreadsheet telemetry again, the same batshit insane changes he made in BC2 could be thrown our way because he sees that a lot of people use a foregrip

hmm but why is that he wonders, why aren't people using the underslung rail of the bipod

for starters because assault only gets the underslung rail, secondly using a bipod on anything other than an LMG or sniper rifle is simply stupid and who is going to use an underslung rail anyway, then you are opening a different can of worms looking at people who prefer to not use the noob tube, or just use it as a separate launcher

the problem is here is that he thinks stuff like the bipod is useful to the assault or engineer class, hell a lot of the time its not even useful to the support guys with LMGs (I'd rather a foregrip) because the bipod just isn't worth it; they have made a game where it is far more beneficial to be mobile and its more fast paced, the bipod often simply has no place or use for what you are doing

alas he is sure to fuck it all up, all he needs to do is tweak some weapons with the foregrip (like the m249 noobcannon), buff the flash supp so it hides people from audio spotting and make the bipod a bit better and happy days

Re: FAMAS to Receive Post-Holiday Nerf

Some of the attachments just don't make sense and I think he's only putting them in the game for the sake of having more attachments. Who would put a bipod on an assault rifle or carbine in real life? I've never even heard of such a thing.

And how accurate are the silencers on LMG's? I thought most LMG's could not have silencers, and for the ones that could, the silencer was more a detriment.

Re: FAMAS to Receive Post-Holiday Nerf

I understand why they are there, simply as an option indeed, but its exactly how you say it, who the hell would put a bipod on an AR, and you don't need to look at real life, a randomer playing the game for 5 minutes, he might be a dumbass but he will learn pretty quick that he does not want to be on a bipod with a carbine, when he can just run around full autoing it from the hip and killing everyone

but as I said, the problem is not all around, I use the M240B a lot for example, I think there is one map in the entire game where I will use a bipod, otherwise I will use a foregrip (I love to be a camping little twat on Seine Rush defenders) but even then, the bipod is not that great

I also use a supp (but then I typically do because of the fucking audio spotting, I would love to use a flash supp BUT I HATE THE DAM AUDIO SPOTTING) and a reflex sight

a foregrip as well, on the 240b if I hold fire the bullets will go everywhere, the spread is there, not necessarily recoil (because the foregrip does some stupid stuff to LMG recoil) but then compared to something like an M249, well I'm sure people have come across IRNV users with a foregripped M249 that can empty a belt on full auto with stupendous accuracy

will Demize realise that he just needs to actually put some time into ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAME and examining how the weapons perform in detail (like he should have done in BC2) or will he simply just look at his telemetry and stat spreadsheets

I am betting on the latter (since thats what he did in BC2) but it would be a nice surprise if the former occurred

Ive added this thread in the main section:

Its a posting of Demize explaining attachments and how he would like to change them. Supposed posting since there is no real source of the post.
