Battlefield 4 Confirmed During Campus Keynote

While speaking at a University of Southern California keynote event, EA President Frank Gibeau revealed that there will be a Battlefield 4. This news comes to us, by way of Twitter, from those in attendance at the event.

After selling five million copies of Battlefield 3 within its first week of sales, and breaking EA sales records, it should be no surprise a sequel is planned. However, according to IGN, this is the first time EA has publicly revealed that a Battlefield 4 exists in some fashion.

It doesnt say when and both EA and DICE have stated it would be at least a two year thing, not next year.Could they change their mind? Sure.

Considering it's two years between MW2 and MW3, and seven (maybe) between BF2 and BF3, I think two years is still a little too soon for a sequel. Assuming they are working on expansions for BF3 and haven't even started BF4 yet, it should take at least 3 or 4 years anyway.

I think they will either come out with BC3 or 2143 next year.

2139 brings an interesting idea to the table they could keep filling in the story between bf3/4 and 2139/2142.

there can always be a BF4, but i am damn pretty sure its a long way from here, so if anything BC3, or a exp pack like Vietnam for BFBC2 for example.

I wouldn't mind if they released a 2142 squeal within 2 years, but I don't want them doing it just to compete with COD, because that has already almost ruined the franchise we love by taking away the things we love about Battlefield and making it CODie! If your going to do anything Dice let it either be a 2142 sequel or better yet a True sequel to BF2 finally, BF3 in my books is a great game but not a true sequel.

How about BF4 PC exclusive please=)

BF2 was released in June of '05 and BF2142 was released in October of '06.There is precedent.

They better release a sequel to 2142. a good one, not a rushed thing. and then after like 3 years from now , after fully fixing supporting bf3 with patches updates dlcs etc... maybe start thinking about bf4
