The Battlefield 3 blog was updated today with "Seven Ways Battlefield 3 is Improving" that provides a status update on what's been fixed, improved, or what still needs work. For example:

7) ORIGIN INSTALLATION AND AUTHENTICATION ISSUES
Status: Fix pending in the very near future

Since the launch of Battlefield 3, Origin have implemented a host of improvements and will continue to do so as long as gamers are playing Battlefield 3. The next Origin update is scheduled for early November and includes a number of critical updates that will fix most of the problems that people have experienced. For the latest updates, answers, and support from the Origin Team, please visit the Origin Help Center.

And nerfing all 7.62 guns...not an improvements; fixing the M39 EMR clip, an improvement!

No, the 7.62 nerf is actually in response to the SCAR being overpowered up close, Laser Sight+Grip=hurt fest for most guns.

The squad join issue was really bumming me out, but now it appears to be fixed from my experience. It's all gravy from here on out.
