Gameforge laid off 100 of its 450 employees, placing the future of man of its planned releases in jeopardy. RockYou is also laying off about 100 of its employees, or roughly 50% of its work force. Forty of these employees come in the way of Playdemic being sold back to the original owners. Both of these companies are in the process of restructuring and through a shifting of focus had to make some cutbacks.
THQ was hit with a quarterly loss of $92.4 million. This is alongside revenues of $146 million. The quarter in question was notoriously light on releases and the company hopes that the holiday season will provide a reduction of losses for the company.
