Sony revealed that the launch of the PlayStation Vita will take place on February 22, 2012 in North America and Europe. Japan will get the handheld device a few months earlier on December 17 with 26 launch titles already lined up.
The UK price for the Wi-Fi Vita is £229 and £279 for the 3G model. Throughout the rest of Europe it will go for €249 (Wi-Fi) and €299 (3G) and in the US it will go for $249 (Wi-Fi) and $299 (3G).
In addition to the 26 launch titles slated for Japan, Sony says that over 100 games are currently in development including a new Resistance title and a new Uncharted game. It will also have Twitter, Facebook, and Skype functionality.
