After the rather lackluster reviews for the original Homefront, THQ shut down Kaos Studios. However, the sales were strong enough that the company decided to keep the franchise alive, turning this time to Crytek for the development duties.
According to GI.biz, the next Homefront title is expected to see the light of day in THQ's 2014 fiscal year. As a small fan of the original, it's good to see the series will continue on.
"Selecting Crytek to take Homefront forward underscores our strategy of working with the industry's best talent," said THQ's Danny Bilson, of today's announcement.
"With Crytek's industry leading technology and legendary experience in the FPS genre, we're supremely confident that the next Homefront will deliver that AAA-quality experience that players demand."
