Portal is Free Until September 20th

As part of Valve's initiative to use games as an educational tool, the development studio is offering up Portal for free until September 20th.

One of the biggest challenges in teaching science, technology, engineering, and math is capturing the students’ imaginations long enough for them to see all of the possibilities that lie ahead.

Using interactive tools like the Portal series to draw them in makes physics, math, logic, spatial reasoning, probability, and problem-solving interesting, cool, and fun which gets us one step closer to our goal—engaged, thoughtful kids!

In 7th grade we went to the natural history museum, and while we were standing outside by a statue, I sneezed and banged my head on a key the statue was holding and had a huge welt on my head for the next week.

I wish we had this stuff back when I was in junior high or high school. Learning with a game would have been more appealing to me than learning from a textbook. I'm also VERY VERY VERY jealous of these kids.
