Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at PAX Prime this Week

Those who are planning to attend PAX Prime in Seattle this week should know that Valve will be in attendance and will be showing off Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

There is a slight catch though, one that is sure to upset Counter-Strike fans.

They are going to be showing off CS:GO and giving a hands-on demonstration of the Xbox 360 version of the game. I know this probably put some of you into shock, but that's just how it is. The good news is that they'll be showing CS:GO off at the Eurogamer Expo next month! However, that particular show will feature CS:GO being played on the PlayStation 3.

I can almost hear the angry shouts from PC Counter-Strike players already.

Uhm?

You realize you're talking about a Valve title here, right? As in, the SDK that everyone who owned any Source title had and has had for years now, and was just recently made free to everybody with the release of TF2 F2P?

If this is a serious product, as in not a cheapy downloadable release, then it is important they get console shooter fans interested. With this whole Battlefield vs Call of Duty thing going on where does Counter Strike fit in? Clearly they must think they have something to show and that could be interesting. Also, it's possible they arn't showing the pc version because it could be a fairly different game, a more managable version of cs on consoles vs the hardcore pc fans.

They said the shows will be about the console versions because later this year the BETA will only be available on the PC.
