During Konami's presentation today at GamesCom, two big pieces of information were revealed for Silent Hill fans. First up, Silent Hill: Downpour producer, Tomm Hulett, revealed that the upcoming Silent Hill HD Collection will be coming to the Xbox 360 in addition to the PS3. It was originally slated to be a PS3 exclusive but due to "fan response" it will now be a multiplatform release.
The team as Konami is aiming to have it out for both consoles around September or October of this year.
Next, the upcoming title, Silent Hill: Book of Memories looks to take the series in a new gameplay direction. It will be a multiplayer action title complete with an isometric vantage. It actually combines elements from previous titles in the series, going so far as to place Harry, Maria, and James in the same Silent Hill story. It's said you will also be able to create your own character for use in the game.
It features "melee combat, guns, and what appears to be a smattering of RPG elements." Book of Memories is in development for the PS Vita.
