Hmmm have to agree. It does seem a bit weak that people pre-ordering via Origin "only" get into the Beta. Down the road one would benefit more from the other offers.Nevertheless I have already preordered via Origin so what ever the add from now on is just gravy.

That is true with BC2, but it may not be true for BF3. From the leaked footage, the kit selection method is a lot more advanced than the BC2 version.

Apparently the early beta access is just 48 hours: http://www.videogamer.com/pc/battlef...re-orders.html

But supposedly the two days will be a Friday and a Saturday (beta is rumored to start Sept. 11), so at least it is two days you could actually play a bit.

And BF3 has jets and destruction with tall buildings. Coincidence? I think not.

To all of you arguing on how the game feels like BC, I only have to say this ... you've only played/watched one map!

When there is chaos all around with tanks, LAVs, jets, choppers, humvees, boats, and 64 player destruction, on another HUGE open map, you'll know it feels like a true BF.

LOL, DICE has promised a lot in the past, like BF2 being a huge improvement from DC and we all know how that ended. Everything from patches years in development to digital releases of games to Mac version were either broken or took so long as in four or so years that they became irrelevant. Not to mention DICE's marvelous track record with patches and game releases going off without a hitch (being sarcastic). Some of the worse game breaking patches in any games I've played were all in the BF series, not to mention BF2 wouldn't even start out of the box, it had to be patched, the patch that BF2: Special Forces applied on install broke the game and the reason why BF2142 played so much better then BF2 was simply because they nerfed the texture quality (sorta like BF Free2play, compared to BF2). Lets not forget the BFBC2 launch, that went just swimmingly. I do not hold my breath when it comes to DICE making promises.

Despite all this, I'm still looking forward to BF3, just like I looked forward to any other BF game in the past.

Thats all very true, but look at how well they handled BC2 AFTER release. A number of patches and unlocked content. Yeah, there was a marketing snafu on that, but I dont blame DICE entirely on that one. The DLC was well done and is very seamless as well as how well the game plays today. Theyve had some hiccups, but they have also learned a thing or two and are going the right direction. Doesnt mean it will be perfect and I suspect there will be trouble playing the first two weeks of release, but then it wouldn't be Battlefield

I feel your pain Chris, I try to avoid the official forums as much as I can because it's full of idiotic BF2 fanboys.

Not BF fanboys, BF2 fanboys. The kind of fanboy that thinks it knows the game design better than the creator. The kinda guy that justifies random deviation as a "skill" thing.

god now I am raging XD.
