It's premiering for CONSOLE; we hadn't seen it on CONSOLE. You know CONSOLES are the mainstream right? Your average Joe on the street equals videogames to xbox or playstation, just like once upon a time you only "played Nintendo" even if you had a Sega console.

Even tough there are far more gaming PCs than consoles, in the mainstream only consoles count and this is not a bad thing anyways.

      Consoles ruin PC gameplay

The XBox360 cam out in 2005, guess what year PC CPUs are in? 2009 at the latest I bet for average gamers, not you have most true gamers with updated systems that run can twice as fast as 2005 junk, but the games get made to 2005 standards so the XBox360 players get to have some fun. At least that's how I see it.

That's also why SP AI isn't getting better, so I hear.

Stop hating, everyone. I know it was on console, damnit.

What I meant was (personally) world premieres should be for stuff we HAVE NOT seen before. You don't go to two "world premieres" for films when one showing is DVD quality, and the other is Blu Ray, do you?

        It just annoys me...

the funny thing about this is that almost immediately DICE came out with a statement explaining why it looks so sh1tty and that it's only pre-alpha.

yeh it still looks amazing on the consoles

they had to come out and say something because there was a mass QQ about the difference between quality in the PC version and console one

                  the answer being lol

                    Hahaha

Serves em darn right. I'm glad we're finally getting what we payed for. If they're only going to spend 1/4th of what we pay for our gaming machines they can get a fourth of the graphics and shut up.

I absolutely hate console players who whine about how unfair things are for them. Entitlement FTW

And what about PC elitists who feel entitled to everything? Or PC only snobs who look down on consoles or console users just "because." Hm?

This type of mentality is pathetic. We're all gamers. The people laughing about how the visuals are crap or how they have to use a controller are just as bad. So ****ing what?

I think people should get what they pay for. I play on consoles (PS3) and computer. When I play on my computer, I expect a well-developed game that uses everything a good PC has to offer. When I play on the PS3, I expect less depth to games. It's the people who think they should be equal who need to shut it.

I'm sick of consoles dominating the gaming market, I'm butt-hurt about it. I miss games like Crysis that used to be PC-only and pushed PCs to the max. Or games like BF2 which had their PC version, and a different console version.

Re: World Premiere of Battlefield 3 Played on a Console

I wasn't hating; the PC crowd got a lot more footage of everything during E3; and console players got nothing. Some were genuinely concerned it would turn out as shitty as Duke Forever is between PC and console (wich is awful, Duke looks worse on console than if it was the old Duke 3D game) specially after the news bomb about being locked to 30 fps.

It is more surprising they wen't with the PS3 version specially because PS3 is third place overall in market penetration this console generation; they may be hitting a wall on the Xbox as they have not shown a single screen of that version and ther eis only one tweet about how they have some lightning solution to make it look as good as the PS3 version.

PC gaming being held back is fault of the companies, not of the consoles themselves; when they feel like it, they can do much better than doing a straight port with a windows installer; Arkham Asylum and Ghostbusters are two of the latest games that received better treatment on PC even tough they are primarily console games; ever played them? the console version can't touch the "port" they got on PC, even without a specialized graphics menu. Ghostbusters is actually more playable on PC, go figure.
Just Cause 2 I'm told is also very good on PC; and Arkham City will hit PC too and I am not buying the console version for that one. Ever seen it with Physix on? It's not groundbreaking but it's breathtaking, even if Physix is as gimmicky as motion controllers. Wich Killzone 3 did ok too; it's much more inmmersive, with abit more polishing it would beat mouse and keyboard (oooh heresy!).

Why blame it just on consoles and not the general apathy among developers who didn't use DX10 to its full potential? And their current reticence to actually use DX11 for more than pretty effects? DICE is not going DX11 just to not release on consoles; it's to drop support for DX9 taking a big chance with it; they will be the first company to develop a game with no support for WinXP and second hand support for Windows Vista.

So it's not BF3 is on PC, so its better; it's BF3 is being developed taking advantage of what PC can offer, so it's better; not because it can't be done on consoles. (wich they also managed, and is actually a feat).
