World Premiere of Battlefield 3 Played on a Console

Up until now, everything we've seen from Battlefield 3 has been through the PC version. Earlier tonight, reps for Battlefield 3 took to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to show the world how the game plays on a console.

Here is Battlefield 3 being played on a PS3.

I must say, that still looks incredibly impressive. It may not have the graphical fidelity as seen in the PC version, but the tech is still, for lack of a better term, beautiful.

now this doesn't effect gameplay, but its a nitpick i have with modern shooters about weapons. why is it so hard for them to model a gun properly, the had it right in the fault line trailer, but the animations were wrong, now they have the animations correct but the model is wrong!! come on.

Wrong how? I notice the lack of a front sight, but I think that is removable anyway.

I love the fact that you can really see the graphical difference from this video to the ones on pc heheh.
Also is it just me or the AI is like 70% more stupid on console?

Wrong how? I notice the lack of a front sight, but I think that is removable anyway.

when you remove the front sight completely it removes the gas block, therefore turning the weapon into a bolt action rifle:)

Generally most developers play on easy settings to show off a game so they don't die. I would assume that's what's gong on here.

Ah, I didn't know that, but I can see that you are correct.
But still, there appears to be a variety of low-profile gasblocks available, so DICE could still argue that it was realistic, although probably not standard US equipment

yeh it does look pretty good, not as good as the PC version but still very impressive

The AI has to be matched to the AI of the user base loll :p jk It's probably because it's harder to aim with a controller so you need more time. PC FTW!:yay:
