There it is, the new Nintendo Wii U, courtesy of E3 2011. The facts, the speculation, and everything you probably want to know is below.
During Nintendo's conference, the Wii U was not actually shown at all outside of the above released shots. In fact, the video footage of games coming to the Wii U were actually running on Xbox 360 and PS3 hardware.
Now this is merely because the console is still well over a year away from release. The hardware doesn't seem to be finalized in the slightest with the apparent exception of the controller for the unit itself.

Right now, it is also being circulated that the console will be above the $250 (USD) price point at launch.
Another point, and this is a rather interesting one, is that you will not be able to buy the controller separately. It will only be bundled with the console and that only one of the special Wii U controllers will work per console. Any more than one apparently won't work.
