Battlefield 3's "Thunder Run" Tank Gameplay Video

Here is the video of the roughly eight minute long live gameplay demonstration from EA's E3 2011 press conference earlier today.

The footage was taken during the "Thunder Run" level in the single player campaign.

Looks good. Reminds me a bit of the tank run from the First CoD game. I do like the thermal option on the tank. Would make night maps fun.

That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're mutts! Here's proof: his nose is cold! Okay, @ 06:18 the A-10 that flys by and pulls up off the screen as what appears to be Afterburner...

A-10s do NOT have afterburner! :shakehead:

        Sheesh :Smacktard2:

You mean the two Chaff packs he fires after pulling out of a dive and the Bloom/Glare off the Turbines as he turns to exit?

Yep, Youtube A-10 ground attack practice, I think it is some kind of standard procedure to cover their asses from AA because you always see them do it...

Nope... the yellow/red glow coming out of the rear of the two engines. The A-10 drops some flares (06:15 - A-10 comes in to frame on left. / 06:16 drops 1st set of flares. / 06:17 drops second set of flares - You can also see the two engines light up in rear as if they have afterburner. / 06:18 You can see the flares going down and the two engines are still lit up / 06:19 A-10 fly's out of screen (right.)) If I recall correctly chaff does not burn as it comes out, it disperses.

I sorry but I do not know what Boom/Glare is. The A-10 has a high bypass engine.

Yes he does, but they don't come out of the engine exhaust nor would they stay in the engine exhaust area an fly with the plane out of the frame.

                        Heavy Metal go home!!!
For tank lovers this map would be epic in MP.
Just add some AT-implacements and perhaps some trenches as cover for infantri.

Am i the only one that gets the impression that big maps are very wide open? i mean it looks like the engine cant have something big and with a lot of detail at the same time . Atleast all of the videos with planes and big maps they all look flat with little buildings and details..... Till now i havent seen a urban map with planes

It's very possible. To have a game render destructible environments smoothly on a large scale is probably very hard.
