I like to think that is looks a lot like BC2 because:

A. Its on the same engine
B. That is Dice's art style
and
C. BC2 was a sort of test for the frostbite engine.

Also, as BC2 was developed with the PS3 as its lead platform, I think DICE wanted to get a feel for each of the current platforms, as they probably hadnt had the experience with the other 2 as they have had with PC. Also, as you may know, PS3 is a B##tch to code on.

Im not worried at all that it might look or feel like BC2 because that on its own is an amazing game.

Give BC2 massive destruction, bigger maps, Jets and breath taking visuals and i dont care if they call it BF3 or Asshat. Its going to be great.

its not the same engine as BC2 remember, its Frostbite 2

but yeh its gonna look similar and thats not a bad thing, did we all expect BF3 to look like BF2 lol?

BC2 did some good things that should be carried over into BF3, then just has to be shoved into the classic Battlefield blender for win

it does look great, can't wait to see some longer videos of the game in play, would be nice to see a more open map but I think they chose the metro map first to entice infantry lovers and secondly to blow us away with another vehicle orientated MP trailer later

I wouldnt mind seeing an all air warfare map. Something to keep the jet whores happy and also to provide a little diversity if you dont feel like playing infantry but cant be bothered to wait for a plane.

I played it in 1943 and thought it was alright? Only problem was that lag was a major problem and there werent enough players half the time :/

coral sea? that map is a remake from 1942.

it's different when its all prop planes but i'd imagine it would be pretty insane with jet planes.

I played it in 1943 and thought it was alright? Only problem was that lag was a major problem and there werent enough players half the time :/

I played it with plenty of players and no lag and it was really boring... It was basically just a plane deathmatch. If they had done something cool with it like, "destroy the other team's carrier/boat/base whatever." It would've been more fun, but it got kinda boring after some time.

I usually took to just flying a plane to the other carrier and shooting them with Bazookas... haha.

i haven't played 1943 but in 1942's coral sea, you didn't have to actually fly. you can man the carrier and its AA guns or you can island hop and do your own thing. i'm guessing it was the same for 1943?
