Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders Getting HD Overhaul

Konami has just won the Internets for the day. They have just announced HD remakes of Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Zone of the Enders, and Zone of the Enders 2. There is, at present, no word about the first Metal Gear Solid title.

The Metal Gear Solid pack will include HD graphics, new art assets, remastered audio, and achievements. The Peace Walker release will include the Konami branded "Transfarring" method that will let you transfer saves from your console to your PSP if you own Peace Walker on both platforms. This pack will be available in November.

The ZOE pack will be a separate release but will also include the same improvements. The ZOE pack, however, will not be released until 2012.

The best part about this all? Both of these packs will be released for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

Cool I am a big fan of the MGS games. Been wanting to play these games again. Do you know if they will be on the Playstation store? Also will be cool for the ones that never owned a PS2 to finally play the games on Xbox.

YES! I loved the first metal Gear solid but my parents went anti-video game during the PS2 era. This will help me make up for lost time, as long as they also release MGS1 (I want a refresher). Though if only the MGS devs Knew that You can play games on PC...

O-M-G, in other words, i slowly say...OH...MY....GOD! this is unbeleivable i get the pleasure of playing MGS3 again!!! i simply as the Newcastle geordies would say "Cannit Weait" i.e. cannot wait!

The HD remakes concern me. There's no mention of MGS1 but I'm speculating they're going to reveal that later as a surprise. Perhaps they're working on a proper re-release version of MGS1, I just hope they aren't planning to sell it separately.

Same for Silent Hill 1.
