L.A. Noire Will Span Three DVD's on Xbox 360

Rockstar Games is primed to release a game that's just too large for one mere DVD to handle when it releases L.A. Noire later this month. In speaking with Kotaku, Rockstar let it be known that three DVD's will hold all that the game has to offer.

"L.A. Noire was always going to be a massive game, from the size and detail of the world to the length of the cases, and of course, the sheer amount of MotionScan data required for the faces of over 400 actors in-game," Jeronimo Barrera, one of the company's top people, told me. "To tell the story and make the game we wanted to make, we knew that it was going to take an entire single layer Blu-ray disc and three Xbox discs."(...)

The only down-side to a multi-disc game is that it could require a lot of disc-swapping. You don't want to play, say, the two-disc Mass Effect 2 and want to keep changing discs. Not to worry, Barrera said. "Since the game is built around the concept of progressing through individual cases from desk to desk, players on Xbox will find disc-swapping is hassle-free. In fact, players will only need to swap discs twice at natural breaks between cases without interrupting the flow of the game."

Don't fret PS3 gamers, the game will still be held on a single 25GB Blu-ray disc.

Looks like the 360 version is the most inferior, it's just to bad I won't be getting the game at all! I was really looking forward to it but then i found out the game world is smaller than mafia's II world which is just way small and def not worth $60. Don't let the hype make you get this game day 1 read up on it, no free roam, small world, etc.

Stryker you may not like it now, but trust me, you'll end up buying it.

This game looks interesting. I'm going to check out the reviews first and see if I should get it

Where did you get any of that from?

And since when was having to swap a disc make a certain platform "inferior." Give me a break.

I dont really understand the hype behind this game. Surely it only has the ability to be a single playthrough because afterwards you will know who is lying etc?

Apparantly the 360 version of Dead Space 2 has an advantage because of the disc swap autosave feature.

Its probably because its made by Rockstar. Also, I find that hype is usually generated by the games marketing board, not the gaming community itself. But a great deal of the gaming community fall for it.
