DirectX 11 Confirmed to be Coming for Crysis 2

Crytek have reconfirmed their plans to bring DirectX 11 support to Crysis 2 in an upcoming update.

We would like to announce that there will be a DX11 patch released for Crysis 2. We are working to get the best out of DX11, so we’ll wait to announce the features until a little closer to release.

Given how DirectX 11 was all but promised for the game already, this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to anybody. No word on a release date or even a release time frame were given. Let's hope it's out sooner rather than later.

Crysis 2 and Shogun 2 both released with DX11 not in it, is this a trend? Is there a reason many devs are pulling it out to rework it than adding it in later with an update?

Yes, it's called "Publishers" and "Meeting a set in stone release date set by the aforementioned publishers."
