From the Battlefield Blog:
Battlefield Play4Free is gearing up towards launch on April 4. Here’s the great news: If you have played a previous Battlefield game, you are welcome to sign up and start playing Battlefield Play4Free right now!*
Battlefield Play4Free is classic Battlefield gameplay in a play for free environment, where players can learn a huge number of combat skills, and earn currency to spend on a massive array of devastating weapons and equipment to craft a unique soldier.
If you’re one of our die-hard Battlefield 2 fans, you’ll be happy to know that classic Battlefield 2 map Strike at Karkand is just one of the legendary maps you’ll be able to play in Battlefield Play4Free starting now.
*All you need to be eligible for this 4 day head start is having played Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 1943 online at some point. That will automatically give you the rights to start playing Battlefield Play4Free right now.
How to get started
1) Head to http://battlefield.play4free.com
2) Register with your EA account used in any of the previous Battlefield games mentioned above
3) Play! :)
So this is it. Your chance to actually try the free game out after the beta and see how it really plays and not how it played months ago.
