Is Mirror's Edge 2 Dead Before It Ever Left the Gate?

A report based off of a report based off of a translation, essentially points in the direction that Mirror's Edge 2 is canned. Finished. No more. Gone. Not going to happen.

The initial report from Press 2 Play TV loosely translates into "The project has been stopped--involved parties at DICE are working on something else now. Patrick himself seems to have Mirror's Edge near his heart, but they are not in the business of charity."

With Battlefield 1943 on the PC also killed off recently, this cancellation rumor may hold quite a bit of weight. The "something else" that DICE is working on currently? With a game as anticipated as Battlefield 3, it could be that the main focus at the studio lies squarely with that title.

I dont think so. It could be, but the difference between 1943 and ME2 was that one was a few years behind what the release date was suppose to be. They finished up 2142 patch to get that off the plate and are not putting other things on it.

I think ME2 is going to be pushed back because of the HUGE focuse BF3 is getting. EA wants to be #1 in the FPS spot and theyve decided BF3 is going to be that.

So, unless the hand ME2 off to another studio, I think it will be pushed back, but not canned. I could be wrong, but I dont think they will kill it entirely.
