I've seen it with some other games (Civilization V comes to mind), but only in extremely rare cases. It happens every time with BF2 and about a third of the time with BC2.

Hmmmm, now that I think about, Ive only seen it while playing DICE games. Anyone see it anywhere else?

i'd also say 95% of the time it happens it's a DICE game. but i have seen it happen during a non-DICE game so i can't say its 100% DICE.

I get it with BF2 almost every time and BC2 sometimes, but I never get it for any other games.

I only get that when I play older games... and even when I do it doesn't affect it at all.

Ive only had it pop up after shutting the game down.

And yeah, I do find it annoying. I assumed you meant performance because its a stupid performance error and we were talking about XP vs 7 and performance and stability.

It just makes me mad that there is this bug in it that cant be explained and has no excuse to pop up.

That wouldnt happen in XP, but then again XP doesnt have the cool desktop thing either

Thats a generic error that doesnt do anything. I have 12GB RAM and I get that error. It doesnt affect performance or gameplay.

I honestly don't see why anyone would use XP on a gaming rig anymore, Windows 7 is great.

I can still remember the day I got BF2, went into Town to the local Game and bought it

I actually got bf2 about 4 or 5 days before release date,I was told not to play it or i will get the guy who sold it to me in big trouble... so i had to stare at the cover until it was release date lol

Its time to move from XP. I understand when Vista came out and all the issues, but those are gone. I use XP at work because some systems require an older OS. XP was great. Its lasted a very long time, but developers, and not just for gaming, are moving on. As a gamer, I update my hardware all the time. Unless something is tying me down to XP, I dont know why I would stay on it when 7 has proven itself. Some people say because of the money and thats very valid, unless you are buying new hardware all the time.

thinking of the maps though, Karkand is gonna be in there, but beyond that I was never really sure what people's favourites were lol

Oman was great, but the air could make it annoying
Mashtuur was well great, would be crazy in this new engine
Sharqi was imo one of, if not the best map, it had everything it needed
Wake...its wake but with balanced air it could own

I think its unlikely but personally I ****ing loved Highway Tampa as well

god dam it so many of the BF2 maps were awesome
