Modern Warfare 3 Details Expected Soon, Projected Release in November

What should come as a surprised just about nobody, Activision may soon be releasing the first details on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The title is well into production and is speculated to be released this November.

Activision has quietly tapped Sledgehammer Games, a Northern California studio, to help out with the making of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, according to people familiar with the situation. The game has not been officially announced by Activision. But the title is well into production and is expected to come out in November, the same month that the publisher has annually released a new Call of Duty installment, people with knowledge of situation said. Modern Warfare 3 will be the first game Infinity Ward has produced since the departure of of company co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella.

People close to the matter said Infinity Ward is working closely with Sledgehammer, which is led by a team recruited away from Activision's rival Electronic Arts Inc. The two studios are equally sharing duties of producing the single-player portion of the game, the sources said.

Activision has also brought in Wisconsin-based Raven Software, which is working on the online multi-player elements for Modern Warfare 3, sources said.

Solid details on the next Call of Duty title are expected to be announced in the "near future."

I'll probably buy it and I will probably enjoy it, but the COD name is taking a lot of on both PC and PS3.

I am already bored of it on the Xbox. Same s**t every day. Call Of Duty = Tony Hawk.

How many studios does it take to make a game? And two of them are working on the single-player? It better be a damn good game (yeah right).

I wonder if they will try to announce it just before the BF3 details are released.

                Honestly dont care anymore :/

This year has something the other previous years didnt have, better games coming out. With the likes of:

                Crysis 2
                Mass Effect 3
                BF3
                Portal 2
                Elder Scrolls
                GoW3

The CoD series for me has died and this year there are plenty of other things to keep me occupied.

I very much enjoy Black Ops but unless Activision and IW pulls something out of its ass I doubt this will bring anything new or remotely interesting to the table... but hey, gonna be interesting to see more info about it

If they would update their game engine it might change my mind about getting this one but I can't see this happening as this is mainly a console game.

Re: Modern Warfare 3 Details Expected Soon, Projected Release in November

COD series needs to pull a rabbit out of its ass. Im talking implementing
                      - a few larger maps
                      - physics based kills (head shots blow off a chunk, leg/groin shots drop anyone to final stand etc)
                      - partial destructable environments (I dont care I can shoot thru a wooden fence if it remains intact)
                      - some sort of team leader / xp share feature so teams can work towards a common goal and be rewarded (i.e capture this point and gain 100XP that the 'commander' or 'offerer' put on the table out of their own XP
                      - fix the cheesy spawn kill problems
                      - team roles to play medic or supply or recon would be nice to facilitate spontaneous teamwork among even unmiced strangers.
                      - better weapon options such as single, burst, full etc
                      - render at 720p instead of that silly jagged 608p or whatever it is

I am sick of Team Deathmatch being a easy free-for-all where only half of the players are out to kill you. People play it like its called "Halo: Real Weapon Edition". My fun with COD is now few and far between since I cant enjoy a total lack of teamwork in what are supposed to be team based games. Everyone is out for themselves no matter what the game mode.

While the Bad Company 2 aiming is clunky and nowhere near as smooth as any COD, the game does facilitate teamwork and reward RAMBOS less for ignoring the objective.

Sadly, I dont see them fixing what still generates massive revenue.
