Battlefield 3 Lifts the Veil on March 1, 2011

EA has revealed today that the veil will be lifted on Battlefield 3 when GDC 2011 rolls around.

EA confirmed that the game will be revealed on March 1, 2011 and have reconfirmed that the game will be released in the second half of this year.

Hold onto your butts, it's going to be an exciting time come March 1. Let's not forget either that those who purchased the LE of Medal of Honor will get early access to the Battlefield 3 beta when it is made available.

Another game releases right as I'm deploying. BF2142 did the same thing and it was mostly dead by the time I got back.
Well, I guess BF3 won't actually get released until the very end of the year, so I'll only miss the first few months.

I know I'm likely setting myself up for a fall on this, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't as giddy as a schoolboy right now. If this game turns out to be the way the inner pessimist is telling me it will much nerdrage will ensue...

The second half of this year is too far away, or a month and a half for news and possible word of the beta is too far away?

... Now, wait until they delay the game until 2012 and THEN it'll be "so far away."

Im very nervous about this news, seeing as how I missed the 1942 era that every BF vet raves on about... though I will admit I need to start getting my own opinions on things...

Don't feel bad...I only played 1942 online a handful of times because by the time I had a decent internet connection BF:V was out and BF2 was well on the way. Most of my 'old school' BF gaming therefore comes from good old BF:V. Would LOVED to have played BF1942 online during its heydey, though. I can't even imagine how epic the battles over Midway and the deserts of El Alamein were.

Imagine 8 planes flying around ,6 tanks,light tanks,2 battleships,lrms raining rockets(DC),epic AA(hand held stingers in DC),Submarines,Manual Artillery all on a big map and everyone running for cover

Omaha beach in BF1942 was like the scene out of saving private ryan,landing boats

As for this news, Im not sure i want to hear the answer but pls be like above lol

If they do show actual gameplay it'll be for xbox 360.

I'm expecting a pre-rendered movie with a handful of "bullshots" released.
