EA to Discontinue Online Service for Roughly 30 Games in Coming Months

EA has just announced their plans to stop online service for roughly 30 games between now and the beginning of March.

According to EA, these games represent just "1% of all peak online players across all EA titles." The full list of titles to be shut down is below and includes The Battle for Middle Earth II and a slew of older EA Sports titles.

Pretty shocked at Fifa 10. Was a big seller last year prior to 11. Seems far too early to cut off online support.

Well, I guess that counts as a score for the PC side in the old war, since we usually have dedicated servers.
I mean, they are closing a 2010 game, and we still have servers running a 1942 game

Its not Fifa10, its the world cup version isnt it?

it scares me and sickens me that EA were unoriginal enough (well, could be wrong, but seems so) to call one of their LOTR products "Rise of the Witch King"
