THQ Announces the uDraw GameTablet for the Wii

THQ has announced the first of its kind peripheral for the Nintendo Wii, the uDraw GameTablet. The $69.99 (USD) Tablet will be bundled with the drawing, coloring and art-based game, uDraw Studio.

The Tablet turns your TV into a "virtual canvas for everyone from doodlers to accomplished artists, letting them create original artwork, enjoy drawing-based games, and even save their artistic creations on an SD memory card to print and share."

In addition to uDraw Studio, other games such as Dood's Big Adventure, a side-scrolling drawing-inspired adventure, and Pictionary are also being released by THQ. Both of these will go for about $29.99 (USD).

The uDraw GameTablet incorporates a 4-by-6-inch drawing space and pressure-sensitive stylus designed to offer more subtle control and precision than available on the traditional Wii Remote™. The Wii Remote docks discretely within the uDraw GameTablet, allowing the device to draw power directly from the Wii Remote. A convenient storage area hides the Wii Remote wrist strap and stylus when not in use. The uDraw GameTablet also features tilt-and-roll movement options, allowing players to interact and control in-game characters by moving and directing them through game levels. Additionally, SD-card support enables players to save and print their artwork and other uDraw creations.
