Is Zynga Worth More than Electronic Arts?

According to a recent study from SharesPost, the valuation of Zynga, creators of Farmville actually exceeds that of Electronic Arts.

According to a valuation on SharesPost, which analyzes the value of private companies, Zynga is currently worth about $5.51 billion. As of this writing, EA's market capitalization stands at $5.2 billion.

Zynga, which runs Farmville, Mafia Wars, FrontierVille and more, now has over 1,100 employees, 65 million daily active users, and 360 million users each month.

The figures from SharesPost are not from an exact science, however, and include many assumptions based on recent figures, research estimates, and more.

All very popular games with less old/stale/failing assets dragging it down like EA...Yeah, I'd say thats about right.

When you are a newer company you dont have all that old baggage on you your older competitors have. If it wasnt for the two hits (warcraft and cod) Activision has, they'd be in the same boat as well.
