    R.i.p. Apb

Perhaps one of the most short-lived MMO's to be released in recent memory, APB has officially closed its doors for good. This comes from an official statement on the game's website.

"Working on APB was rewarding, frustrating, amazing, depressing, exciting, and overall, surreal. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it, but I’ve enjoyed it all the way. I hope the players enjoyed the time they had despite the short comings, and will remember the game in a good light for what it was meant to be, not quite what it turned out to be. Now just to get started on that Xbox version..." - Jon McKellan (the guy who did the loading screens)

The servers are no more. The city deserted. APB released on June 29, 2010 for the PC. Due to lackluster sales and rather poor review scores, developer Realtime Worlds (Crackdown) went into administration. It is speculated that if a buyer for the company is not found by the end of September, the company's assets will be liquidated.
