A mandatory update to the PlayStation 3 firmware was rolled out a short time ago by Sony. Touting only a change log of including "additional security features" it is assumed by many to be a patch that prevents users from jailbreaking their systems.
For those unaware, a rather easy means of Jailbreaking a PS3 was revealed a short time ago. This method required only the use of a USB thumb drive and no additional hardware modifications.
As noted in the PS Blog news about this update, the community seems to be rather divided on the subject. Some are in favor of patching out the exploit, while others are, understandably, a bit more irate at not being able to jailbreak their system.
