Earlier today, Guinness announced the top 50 videogame series of all time. Since the first position was already given away in the title, Halo, it should be noted that this list was based on public voting. Over 13,000 votes were tallied from readers and yes, the Chief in green came out on top. Moreso, Halo is, according to Guinness, the "best selling first-person shooter franchise ever."

.......Halo....really? I am sorry but if anything zelda or call of duty should be the best. Honestly i just dont see the big deal with Halo its really isn't that special.

Yep, exactly. That's the problem with stupid polls like this one. You get a ton of kids whom are probably far too young to even be legally allowed to play the games they voted for, voting for stuff like Halo and other titles like that.

Now, I enjoy Halo, but it's not a #1 franchise by any stretch of the imagination.

Yah I never really thought halo was all that good either. Compared to PC titles it just doesnt match up.

Halo is the best mutliplayer console game released since goldeneye. I've never owned the game but I can say I wasn't playing Call of Duty multiplayer very much with frat brothers, with friends, or anyone else.
They were all playing HALO until I picked up a controller then usually the genre of game changed after a few rounds.

Also one thing to note on CoD is lets remember when it was good yeah its gone down the **** hole but vCoD and UO were two of the best damn games ever. Two of the finest fps.

What is it with Halo that people love? When i was playing the third i was so bored and the story was so cliche and really dont understand why people adore the franchise so much.

For me personally Halo is a generic piece of crap.

I'll state it again but a bit clearer.

HALO's mutliplayer>COD's multiplayer on consoles. People play single player and they are done with it but when a game has a great mutliplayer like HALO's people play it for hours and hours. When I lived in texas people were playing halo like crazy in multiplayer no one played COD for its multiplayer, when I moved to oklahoma people were playing HALO's mutlipler when I went to college and would go to different peoples dorm rooms they were playing HALO mutliplayer, in my frat house they were playing halo mutliplayer.

When I was in my room and no one was around I was playing COD when friends came over we played HALO multiplayer. Rarely did anyone play COD's mutliplayer.

This is one of those lists that could easily be debated. There are titles on here that are hardly even a year old! And other titles that should be on there that are absent, which could be older then the age of the kids voting...like Doom2 or QuakeIII.

Wtf is L4D on that list for anyways, and I don't see Orange Box either? There are titles I don't even know what they are.
