Gametrailers has released the HD version of the teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Be sure to check it out in HD if you're so inclined. Black Ops is developed by Treyarch and is slated to be released by Activision on November 9, 2010 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms.

I guessed it might take place in vietnam, turns out i was right lol. Well what to make of this game then well basically i hated paying for MW2 so i am probably not going to buy this unless it proves itself worthy like BC2 did to me. What do you guys think of it? I know it is a bit too soon but just your initial thoughts after this teaser.

It's not solely Vietnam, for starters. I saw an L85 and an AUG in that, both of which were not around during the Vietnam War.

But what REALLY interests me is the fact that you get to fly a helicopter. And not just any helicopter, but an Mi-24 Hind-A, presumably stolen from the Vietnamese. You can tell by the greenhouse style cockpit that was around on the early production Hind-A. You can also see someone getting into the gunner's seat, meaning that you are the PIC, and your view of FFARs being launched is quite high, a further indicator of being the pilot.

I'm not sure what significance the SR-71 poses, if you can't fly it, or what bearing it will have on the campaign. It can't be shot down, because that's next to impossible if this CoD aims to be at all authentic. It's possible that it may suffer some sort of failure over Siberia, similar to what happened with the D-21 drone.

Treyarch was very supportive of the PC version of CoD:WaW so unless Activision wants a say I'd say it's pretty likely.

You do realize Activision is going to be pulling the strings the entire time anyway, right? I really doubt Treyarch is going to have any more say in the matter than IW did. The only reason it might have dedi's is because Activision knows it can't pull that same crap with a Treyarch developed game.

I don't mind Treyarch personally, but they know already it won't sell anywhere near what MW and MW2 did so they can't get away with as much BS.
