Five More Depart Infinity Ward; Former Staff Joining Respawn Entertainment

More staff have made the exodus from Infinity Ward today. Kotaku reports that five more lead developers are departing the crumbling Infinity Ward and looking to put their talents to use elsewhere.

- Mohammad Alavi - Senior Designer
- Chad Grenier - Senior Designer
- Brent McLeod - Senior Designer
- Chris Lambert - Programmer
- Jason McCord - Designer

This brings the total number of departures up to over 17 staff members. At the moment, seven of those 17+ have announced that they will be taking up positions at Respawn Entertainment. Respawn, as you may recall, was formed by former IW execs West and Zampella.

good for them, seriously since the MP fail in MW2 IW just sucks that and Activision. Hopefully the guys that left them make great titles for us to play!

I own the game and think the hosting is fail. I just hope that respawn will listen to the community and give us dedi servers.

Yes i do own the game, on PC, my brother got it on PS3. I played the SP liked it but MP was a let down RYKUU. When i bought BC2 i loved the MP and still play it, you can easily navigate the servers like i use to in BF2 pick a server and play! as well as the servers are well populated and certainly not 6V6 32 players and above is the way to go for PC me thinks.

I own the game as well ... but ... it's not installed. Multiplayer was a huge fail, I don't see how you can say it wasn't.

No dedicated servers really sucked, especially with all the hackers.

I find MW2 multiplayer fun, but plauged with problems. First off, the lack of dedicated servers is a given, and not to mention the numerous imbalanced killstreaks. If only there was a ranked mode that disabled killstreaks and maybe perks, (but not attachments as some seem to prefer) it would be a superb modern warfare game, but as it stands its incredibly frustrating.

I know the hackers are a pain but no dedicated severs is only one aspect of MP, like i have said, you either like it or hate MW2 multiplayer...

did have a good series of rounds, and actually got a kdr with more kills than deaths! and managed to get top of the table a couple of times, but MW2 seems to be a game that is trying to win my love but isnt trying very hard to keep it, because after a good round or two, i usually get a very very bad one soon after...

Am i a little lost here? I see alot of Activision ripping and IW ripping saying "haha slap it in their faces and long live respawn..."

Well hang on a tick... the people at IW created the crap pile that is MW2, the people that were IW who created the crap pile have now moved to respawn...

I fail to see where Respawn are now gods and are so brilliant that they attempted to screw activision over but got nailed for it...

Is that just me... to me Respawn are IW thus still the crap game makers that just want money money money and dont care in the slightest about their customers...

Respawn should burn and fast, woopee we're now under EA, lets ruin them too!

- Stupid amount of kill streaks
- Over-abundance of perks.
- No dedi's
- Seemingly non-existent anti-cheat
- No real way for clan competition.


The list goes on, its really not better than 4 at all.

I have to agree, the MP aspect of MW2 was a huge let down although i expected it and the SP campaign was so cliche i didnt even bother finishing it.

Awesomely flawed logic there. Activision was pulling the strings at IW for all of MW2. IW and all ex employees already said they weren't allowed to make the game they wanted to. Your hatred is extremely misguided.

Bobby Kotick wasn't the one calling fans "nerds" in interviews or joking about mouse support and graphics settings.
Those guys probably have bursitis from patting themselves on the back and covering their asses at the same time.
