  • Plants vs. Zombies Breaks iPhone App Sales Record

In just nine days of sales, the iPhone and iPod Touch version of Plants vs. Zombies managed to earn over $1 million (USD) through the App Store.

Priced at just $2.99 (USD), the highly popular and addictive PopCap title sold more than 300,000 units in that span of time. This marks the second incredibly strong showing from PopCap on the App Store, with Bejeweled 2 also selling like gang busters.

App Store customer response has been particularly strong, with more than 95 percent of paying customers awarding Plants vs. Zombies a full five-star rating.

PopCap also notes that the iPhone and iPod Touch version of its landmark match-three puzzler Bejeweled 2 recently became the first paid application in the iTunes App Store to surpass three million units in sales. Bejeweled 2 joins Plants vs. Zombies in Apple's "top paid apps" and "top grossing" sales charts this week.

If you're an iPod Touch of iPhone user, go ahead and pick up the Plants vs. Zombies game, you won't be disappointed.
