Reduction of classes has been going on since BF2.

Reduction of squad sizes, removal of prone and commander aren't because its on console, where is your proof? Consoles are quite capable of all these features and there are games on consoles that have them. Have you considered that this just might be the direction the devs want to take with Battlefield? Their job is to make a game that sells and the more copies that sell the better it is for the game. BC2 will probably be their biggest seller so far and if it is then they are more likely to keep these changes in the game because of the success of this "version" of Battlefield, whether we like them or not.

      This.

There's no proof that DICE implemented the reductions they did because it was a console game. I prefer PC gaming, but console gaming isn't THAT inferior that they had to remove those elements in order for the game to work. They removed them to make the gameplay faster and different, because that was the goal with BC2, plain and simple.

I have read because of the low DPI on consoles "Prone"cannot be used! otherwise they cant be seen and it just seems like a small pixel line shooting at you?

lower resolution making prone hard to see excuse, there's not enough buttons for prone on the gamepad excuse, reduction of player counts due to strict console network limitations were all excuses that came out of the mouth of DICE.

There are plenty of console games that have prone, there is enough buttons for prone as other games have it. Have you even played a console FPS? as you would know this already. Player count on MAG is 256 players on PS3 so player count is not a valid excuse. Basiclaly what it means is the engine wasn't good enough to do it not consoles. All of this may have come from DICE but it doesn't mean they are telling the truth. There have been many different "reasons" from DICE about why prone was not in. Some of them aren't about consoles either so I'm afraid this isn't proof because of the reasons I have provided.

And the graphics took a hit as well on MAG to allow for 256 player matches.

Yeah they did but 256 players with no lag is still impressive and 32 or even 64 players is a long way off that figure.
